  • Welding

Course Description

Build your welding skills from the ground up in this Basic Welding training – perfect for beginners or anyone looking to strengthen their hands-on technique. The session begins with welding safety, a mandatory requirement for use of the Vermont State University Randolph Camus Welding Laboratory.

Participants will learn MIG, STICK, and TIG welding techniques, with plenty of guided practice time under the supervision of experienced instructors. The training also covers metal types and properties, tank and pressure setup, and how to identify both ideal welds and common defects.

Attendees will also learn to operate a plasma cutter to accurately cut various metals and can complete a small personal project, such as a rocket stove, during the training.

All materials are provided, and no previous welding experience is required.
