Course Description
One-time, weekend workshops to prepare electrical apprenticeship graduates for their Journeyman Licensure Exam. VTSU offers free Exam Prep Courses in the fall and spring for former apprentices who have not yet obtained their license. Participants will strengthen test-taking strategies and learn how to navigate the National Electrical Code (NEC) quickly and accurately. The course includes and in-depth NEC review and multiple timed practice quizzes to prepare for the journeyman or master electrician licensure exams.

Mark Fournier is a Master licensed electrician in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. He started his electrical career at the age of 35 after being a professional cook for 17 years. Mark has taught fourth-year apprentices in the apprenticeship program for five years. He likes to focus on enhancing students’ knowledge of the code book, its layout, finding code requirements, and refreshing knowledge of the common calculations used in the field and on licensing exams.

Jodi Doyle is an instructor for the Electrical 1 class for the VT State Apprenticeship Program. He is a VT Master Electrician with over 30 years in the trade and works for the state of Vermont as an Electrical Inspector covering the Northwest region of Vermont. Within his 30 plus years Jodi has dedicated 25 years to NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Program development, training and implementation for world class manufacturing throughout Vermont. Jodi’s classroom style is focused primarily around lecture, working through examples with repetition so that students understand the math and formulas required to be successful in the Vermont State Apprenticeship Program. In Jodi’s downtime he enjoys playing music, scale model building, anything with trades. He will continue to give back to the program indefinitely for a program that has given so much to him.
