Course Description

Plumbing 2 builds on foundational plumbing skills by focusing on system installation, testing, and sizing, while introducing commercial drawings, valves, drainage systems, water supply systems, fixtures, water heaters, fuel gas and fuel oil systems, hydronic and steam heating systems, and basic electrical concepts used in residential and commercial plumbing applications.

Session Information

Nov 2 2026 - May 1 2027
Two nights per week (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday) for a total of 6 hours per week

Gerald J. Garrow Jr. is a Vermont Master Plumber with more than 45 years of experience in the plumbing and heating industry. He began his career as an apprentice under Brunelle & Quesnel Plumbing and Heating in Rutland and went on to work as a journeyman and master plumber with Poldi Plumbing and Heating in Killington.  

Since 1998, Gerald has served as the Vermont State Chief Plumbing and Heating Inspector and Assistant Fire Marshal, as well as Regional Manager for the Division of Fire Safety in Rutland. He is also the long-time Chair of the Vermont State Plumbing Examining Board and co-owner of Plumbtech, where he teaches continuing education courses.   

A graduate of the Vermont Plumbing Apprenticeship Program himself, Gerlad has been an instructor for more than 25 years, currently teaching level 2 apprentices through Vermont State University. Dedicated to student success, he is passionate about preparing the next generation of plumbers to achieve licensure and excellence in the trade.

Eliah O. Young is the proprietor of North Woods Plumbing & Mechanical, LLC, situated in Montpelier, VT. He is a licensed Master Plumber in Vermont with more than 20 years of experience in the plumbing and heating industries, and he is also a decorated combat veteran. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Keene State College, and recently, earned a Juris Doctor from New England Law. He is dedicated to promoting community through ongoing education and personal development, and he is deeply committed to the future of our trade professionals.
